Akihiro Woodworks Jincup Urushi
In Kagoshima, a seaside city in Japan, Jin Akihiro and his brother are making art through sustainability and craftsmanship. Each 6-ounce Jincup is hand-carved by the Akihiro family from local tabunoki (a Japanese evergreen) wood to support Kagoshima’s economy and decrease Akihiro Woodworks’ environmental footprint.
The cup’s exterior is fortified with a clear resin and its interior, lip, and handle are coated in urushi—a Japanese glaze. The Blue Bottle Coffee logo is engraved on the bottom, for a distinct look you can only find here.
Typically ships in 1 to 3 business days.
Design Story
As Rare as It Is Beautiful
After Jin selects each piece of wood, he dries it for up to five years before hand-carving these cups. With a thin, smooth drinking spout and a comfortable handle, these cups are as functional as they are beautiful. The Jincup is a rarity that comes to us in very limited supply—don’t miss this one-of-a-kind gift.
To honor the care and attention Jin puts into every cup, we recommend showing the same care by hand-washing your cup.
